Gifts From Home to Show We Care

Thank The Forces is a registered Charity currently based in Polegate, East Sussex. We are a British MOD approved Charity and as such work with the BFPO and the MOD to ensure goodwill and morale gift boxes reach British Forces Personnel serving in conflict areas of the world. Working in conjunction with the MOD and BFPO ensures there is no disruption or undue workload on the BFPO and RAF supply chain.

Wherever you live, we welcome your support, but we are only able to collect gifts for the British Forces from within Sussex. If you can get your items to us, we will gladly despatch them for you.

If you would like to donate to our funds, cheques need to be made payable to Thank The Forces Charity. These funds will be used to fill and despatch gift boxes to British Forces serving in Afghanistan and also to support the MOD Operational Welfare Fund

As our name suggests, the sole aim of our Charity is to ‘thank’ British Forces personnel for their service and sacrifices to the nation.

Thank The Forces Charity provides a confidential, free of charges service to members of the public wishing to send a little goodwill and morale to our brave Forces Personnel serving in conflict areas of the world.

None of us like the idea of conflict and war, but throughout history and up to the present day, British Forces personnel have been deployed to many areas of the world where they work without fear or favour to keep our nation safe.

We are not a political group and have no say in where our troops are deployed.

Wherever our Forces are deployed in conflict and danger Thank The Forces Charity aims to let the brave boys and girls of ALL the British Armed Forces know the people they serve respect and care for them and wish them a safe tour of duty and a swift return home to their families and friends.

In short, members of the public are asked to donate sweets and treats as listed on the ‘what to give’ page and also write a goodwill letter if they so wish.

Thank The Forces volunteers give their time freely to carefully box, wrap and pack all the lovely treats, letters and cards. The gift parcels are despatched to Operational Theatre to be passed out to our troops by the Chaplaincy of all the British Armed Forces. The Padres will pass the boxes to where the need is greatest at any given time.

We are not a religious group, but prayers and blessings from all faiths, religions and beliefs are most welcome.

Many gift boxes are flown out to the front line in Afghanistan where our boys and girls are working in very austere and dangerous conditions. To receive a gift from home helps to lift morale and really let our brave troops know we are thinking about them and wish them well.

Please feel free to e mail us at info@thanktheforces.com or call on the number at the top this page.

Thank you to all our kind supporters. Without the support of the public Thank The Forces Charity could not continue its good work.

A great big Thank You must go to all the brave men and women from all the British Armed Forces, past and present, who serve us so well.

Stephen Lloyds Festive Appeal

During December 2009 Lib/Dem Parliamentary Spokesman Stephen Lloyd asked Sue for permission to write a personal letter about Thank The Forces work, to be included in his Festive Christmas cards and sent out  to the people of Eastbourne and Willingdon.

As a result of the Stephen Lloyds letter of support for Thank The Forces, Eastbourne and Willingdon residents have donated a massive £1,896.00p to the Charity.

On Monday the 18th January 2010 Stephen Lloyd met with Sue to present an equally enormous cheque to Thank The Forces Charity on behalf of the people of Eastbourne and Willingdon.

Stephen Lloyd added
I was absolutely thrilled to hear from Sue how many people from Eastbourne and Willingdon had contributed once they received my Christmas card. Wonderful generosity, from local people giving to such a fantastic cause. It is a privilege to be a supporter of Thank The Forces Charity’

This huge donation will ensure we can continue our good work in support of our Forces Personnel. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the residents of Eastbourne and Willingdon who have given so much despite the downturn in the economy’
