  • A Letter Received 27th January 2008 from Afghanistan

My name is Lee and I am currently serving in Kandahar Afghanistan. I have been here since November 2007 and I am due to come home in March. I would like to say how very happy I was to receive the gift box; it definitely brightened my day and the days of my friends also!

We would like to pass our heartfelt thanks to you and the people of Sussex.

    Thank you all so much,
    Lee

  • A Letter Received 25th January 2008 from Afghanistan

Thank you very much for all the parcels you sent for members of the HM Forces in Afghanistan- it was kind and thoughtful of you to do so.

For people spending months and months so far away from those they love, it means a lot to know that people back in the UK are thinking about them and showing practical support.

The items that you sent have been very well received and lots of people out there are very grateful for your kindness and generosity at this time.

May you know Gods Blessing in 2008.

    Yours Sincerely,
    David

  • A letter received from Iraq 11th January 2008

Im just writing this letter to thank you very much for the gifts. Its such a nice gesture and very much appreciated by every serviceman/woman who are Serving out in here in Iraq at the moment.

As it is Christmas Day today every person is missing home that little bit more today and to receive a gift from a complete stranger back home in Britain it was just amazing to know that there are complete strangers who would do such an amazing thing.

Everyone serving out here just now, had a smile put on their faces, because of what people like yourselves have done!

We are very proud to be serving our country out here and knowing we are looking after the people of the UK.

I am a Royal Navy Sailor, currently serving with 16 Regt Royal Artillary. We provide air cover within the base and we are all working tonight, but with that extra smile on our faces and thats because of people like yourselves.

I hope you have had an amazing Christmas and that this will be an amazing New Year for you.

All the Best and take care.
    Alan,
    Basra

  • A letter received from a Regt Sgt Major 05/01/2008

    CHRISTMAS PARCELS RECEIVED IN IRAQ

I am a member of 4th Mechanized Brigade (The Desert Rats) currently deployed over the Christmas and New Year period in Iraq.

I want to thank you personally for the lovely gifts that you sent that I received from under the Christmas tree that we erected within the Barracks. I was touched by the gesture, and more practically I have made use of the razors and shower gel.

The sweets are in my cabin awaiting my personal attention later today.

As a Sgt Major I am grateful not only to you but all the very thoughtful and kind people that have had the kindness of heart to think of us at this festive time.
To see the lads opening presents with big grins on their faces is very heart-warming.

Once again, thank you very much and I wish you a peaceful and Merry Christmas and a successful and happy 2008.

    Yours Humbly,
    RSM Gresty,
    Iraq
