Thank you so much for the lovely goodies you have so kindly sent to me. I'm sorry I haven't been quicker in writing, but we are really busy and I spent the last week or so at the front line.

The support the people back home is quite overwhelming and we are all really grateful for it.

The morale does tend to peak up and then drop again when someone is injured or killed - there have been sic killed in the last 6 days which is such a tragedy especially as we approach the festive season.

The morale amongst my guys is good at the moment and the sending of a little something really does without doubt help to improve things.

Thank you so much for being so very thoughtful and making so many peoples time out here a little bit more comfortable

I am writing to thank you and your supporters heartily for your very generous welfare packages. I am based with my troops in the Front Line where conditions are basic, especially with winter clothing which why your gifts were so well received. We have received a number of packages that have been distributed to members of the Ghurkas Rifles who we are working with.

All of us were very pleased to have something to open on Christmas Day, however we are even more pleased to hear there are many amongst the public at home that support us and believe that we are doing a good job out here in Afghanistan.

    Yours Gratefully,
    Lt NT M

Thank you for the box you sent out. It was really kind of you and so gratefully received, especially at this time of year. It is really cold at the moment, wet and windy so every bit of comfort food goes a long way. We have had a few boxes sent out and yours was by far the best so many grateful thanks to you and all your helpers.

Thank you very much for the kind gifts that have been sent out to the various locations where our soldiers are serving over Christmas. The generosity and thoughtfulness' of everyone back home has caught us by surprise and it makes our time out here feel so much more worthwhile knowing there are folks back home thinking of us.

It is now Christmas Day and we have each received a lovely parcel of gifts from you generous folk in Sussex!!

I am in Baghdad, the weather is warm and sunny and we are of course thinking of home. I was really touched by your generosity and one Christmas card attached to a friends' parcel came from a little person called Julie and sent 'To A Soldier' really got my heartstrings going - it was very sweet!!

Thank you again and I hope you all have a happy, peaceful and contented Christmas and New Year.

    Steve,
    Baghdad
