A message for Bertie and Ingrid,
Just a short note to say a big thank you for your parcel. It arrived on a resupply run to my patrol base on the 23rd December 2009 so I was able to open it on Christmas day
It’s a real privilege to receive a parcel, especially at this time of year from someone that you don’t know personally.
As a company commander, I know how well received the parcels are by all of the soldiers and how grateful we are for them.
We have settled into our bases just outside Musa Qala and are having a positive effect on the nationals that live close to our patrol bases.
We made the best of being away for Christmas by holding a carol service on Christmas Eve. Thank you again for your parcel that was a lovely gesture. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Major S. Royal Anglian – Boxing Day 2009
