Soldiers Letter

Received 3rd January 2010

I thought it was only right to write a thank you note for your kind donation of welfare goods for the soldiers.  I am in command of a very small team so we do not normally receive any welfare packs as they are quite rightly sent to the fighting troops.  It is important for us out here in Afghanistan to know that the public are still behind us and these very kind gifts give us a much needed morale boost especially when we are nearing the end of what has been a very hard tour for us all out here.  Most of us are due to swap over but a small number of soldiers are only just starting like myself but it makes it so much easier to do a difficult job when we know that the public is 100% behind us.  Again thank you very much for your kind gift from all f us in the Military Provost Staff.

Received 5th January 2010

I would like to thank you for my Christmas box I received the other day . It was a great morale boost at this time of year.
We all made the best of a bad situation on Christmas Day by celebrating it with surprisingly enough an excellent meal eaten out on the sun on one of the forward operating bases. I would also like to wish you and all your team a very Happy New Year and an excellent year to come. Once again thanks for your gift and most of all your support for all of us out here.Yours Faithfully Sgt J S
